Motivation
Growing up in Staten Island New York I didn’t find a lot of activities to engage in so I had a large amount of free time available to do whatever I wanted. I usually watched television and that’s where I found and became fascinated with the WWE short for world wrestling entertainment. The WWE is a company that stages events where people known as WWE superstars compete and entertain us with dazzling displays of athleticism. Children especially have become the largest part of the WWE’s fan base which is known as the WWE universe. The WWE has supported healthy living for children especially for many years; whenever one of the WWE stars were on T.V talking about eating right and staying active they motivated me too get up and do whatever I could that involved me moving around. All of the excess energy I had from watching WWE and eating right eventually led me to trying mixed martial arts, this is where I learned about the UFC and began following it and its fighters much like I did the WWE. Watching UFC motivated me to become a better fighter myself in the hopes that one day I could maybe be in the company too. To be a successful fighter in the UFC all the competitors must be very athletic and well conditioned; fighters must be on strict diets year round to optimize their bodies limitations so that they can perform as well as they can. These fighters level of dedication to be successful motivated me to try and duplicate their diet plans and follow them myself. I still follow both the WWE and the UFC today because of their support for healthy living and their entertaining performances.
UFC.comThe purpose of this website is to get UFC fans interested in upcoming events and UFC related merchandise. This website is trying to sell upcoming pay per view events it is having by posting the main attraction of the event directly on the homepage of the website. It does not recruit volunteers of any kind nut gives a large amount of info about various fighters associated with the company. The UFC uses sponsors from popular companies such as Harley Davidson and the wounded warriors fund to show that they are a trusted company. The logo for the site is only 3 letters (UFC) and is very simple because it helps make the site less complicated and easier to use. The Harley Davidson image is featured throughout the website showing multiple bikes and is used to show a sense of brotherhood between fans. The site also features photos of fighters to help us understand who is going to be part of the next event trying to get us more interested in it. The color scheme is black and red showing a more rugged appeal. The authors of the site are addressing the fans asking open ended questions about the next fight to get people debating on the subject. The site also has various blogs and tabs where fans who visit regularly and have entered an email can comment and talk about past and previous events. There are links to the Harley Davidson website because they are sponsors of the main site. I like this website because I am a mixed martial arts fighter and look up to various fighters associated with this company. In the design of the site there are many quotes from fighters such as “never give up” and many others that teach me and remind me to always persevere. I like that both websites support activity in children. I also like that the UFC website targets an older age group and the WWE site targets a younger audience.

This Site is selling clothes with designs related to WWE stars through credit card purchasing. The site has a large community or following know as the WWE universe that follows anything WWE related. This site helps recruit people for donations for the make a wish foundation. This site informs me about various WWE stars and social events. This site also uses its younger followers to help support its family oriented image. The logo for the site is only 3 letters (WWE) and is very simple because it helps make the site less complicated and easier to use. There is a repeated image of the letter “W” in black and red to help further show the company. The site also features photos of WWE stars to help us understand who is going to be part of the next event trying to get us more interested in it. The color scheme is red and white showing a more friendly image. The authors of the site are targeting fans so that they can convince them to buy pay per view material and other merchandise. The site also includes various poles and surveys about upcoming issues that fans can answer and debate. Young children most likely use this site daily to keep up with their favorite WWE stars through interconnected social media sites where they can also comment about whatever they want. This site also has connections to the wounded warrior’s fund which helps show their more family oriented approach. I like this website because I was a WWE fan growing up and watched every event I could. The design of this site teaches me that there are easier ways to sell merchandise such as associating a popular WWE star with them.
